Meet The Doctor
Dr.
Tim Burgiss obtained his undergraduate degree (BA, Chemistry)
from the University of North Carolina in 1981. He graduated
from UNC's School of
Dentistry in 1985, and has been in practice in Union Grove these
past twenty-three years. Dr. Burgiss has spent over 700 hours
in continuing education. He has studied extensively
at the prestigious
Pankey
Institute
(200 hours) in Florida, at the Center
for Professional Development in Arizona, and has studied with Gordon
Christiansen
in Utah. He is a member of the American
Dental Association, the Academy
of General Dentistry, Foothills Dental Continuum Study Club, and
is a Fellow in the International
Academy of Dentistry. His practice focus is on cosmetics (smile enhancement), restorative
dentistry, and implants.
Dr. Burgiss was raised in the mountains of North
Carolina in Laurel Springs and continues the family lineage
of health care providers. He lives in Statesville with his wife,
Debbie, and his two high school daughters, Drew and Ali. He is
an active member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Statesville
and is chairman of the school board at Statesville Christian
School. Dr. Burgiss
has
been involved with dental missions at the Open Door Clinic in Statesville,
and has been on mission trips to Russia and Venezuela. Some
of his special interests include bird hunting, travel, skiing,
all sports (especially Carolina basketball), watching his daughters
compete in athletics, and coaching varsity girls basketball
and varsity girls tennis at Statesville Christian School.
