Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are a popular cosmetic treatment that can be used to correct a variety of issues. In essence, a dental veneer is just that: a thin layer of porcelain custom made to match the desired shape and color and then permanently affixed to the outer side of the tooth. Dental veneers are a flexible and versatile treatment, which can be used to correct a variety of conditions and cosmetic issues:

Teeth which have become discolored due to diet, coffee consumption, medications, or previous dental treatments
Chipped or broken teeth
Misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped teeth

Typically the process of installing a dental veneer will require a minimum of two office visits: the first for a consult and the second to install the custom-made veneer. The process is fairly straightforward: after the veneer is made to match the desired shape and color, the tooth is reshaped to accept the veneer, which is then permanently attached to the tooth using a strong dental adhesive. The resulting veneer should last a lifetime with proper care.
